As you meander at your own pace on the Greenbrier River Trail our string of trained pack goats will carry the day's supplies and graze alongside you, adding a touch of whimsy to your journey. Find yourself amazed by the beauty of this now pristine country road. * Goat Companionship: Experience the joy of trekking alongside our pack goats and form a special bond with our furry friends. Be nice, they're carrying our lunch! * The Guide: Our experienced guide will lead you and the pack goats into a remote and seemingly hidden corridor on the GRT. Ask questions and we'll share insights into the local flora, fauna, and history of Woodman, site of one of the largest and most modern lumber towns of the early 20th century. * Appalachian gourmet cuisine: Savor a specialty prepared multi-course lunch of local food that you packed in by goats! What to Expect: * Something Ancient. Something New: You will be surrounded by towering rock cliffs and deep forest in this ancient ecosystem of eastern West Virginia's Greenbrier Valley. The GRT provides access to a remote backcountry that truly is Almost Heaven and the Birthplace of Rivers. * Moderate Hiking: Park at the Anthony trailhead at MM 14. Here you will meet our pack goats, load them up and hike north on a safe, smooth, crushed limestone trail of the GRT. The 4 miles round trip makes this trek suitable for individuals with a moderate level of fitness and trail hiking experience. * Immersion into Nature: When you find yourself walking alongside the longest free-flowing river in the East with a pack goat there is little choice but to feel hugged by nature. * Goat Interactions: Learn about goat behavior, pack goat gear and their new role in outdoor adventure.
