This real-life "Choose your Own Adventure" showcases the fun you can have in the great outdoors when pack goats carry all the food and gear! So gather your friends, family, civic-organization or group of coworkers for a truly unique, guided day hike on the Greenbrier River Trail in West Virginia. Make choices: Choose a GRT trailhead. Then: Meet our pack goats, load them up and hike with them for a full day of adventure you choose on the GRT. Do you: Explore a hidden opening in our ancient limestone cave system and then plunge into a cold swimming hole in the river below for the afternoon? Or: Engage in a water crossing with our trained pack goats and explore a river island that was once logged and turned into a potato farm in the 1930's? Increase your abilities and visit our strategically placed pack-goat-powered base camp just off the GRT at MM 22.5. Here you will find a restroom, water station and a cool place to hang with the goats in the shade and relax. * All day adventures include 'The Big Lunch' of buttered cornbread and cowboy chili. Choose Your Own Pack Goat Adventure Trailheads: Hike 25 min./ 1.34 miles North from Spring Creek Trailhead or Hike 45 min./ 2.12 miles South from Renick / Falling Spring Trailhead What to Bring: * Your appetite * Full water bottle * Daypack with personal rain gear, hat and snacks. Wear layers. * Sturdy trail shoes. Water shoes required for river adventures.
